'05 Yesterday

In the dark,
Silently sleeping.
Head pounding,
Heart clenching.
Thoughts surfacing.

Inadequate,
Lacking.
Incomplete,
Unequal.
Not good enough.

Thoughts of the past,
Perhaps long ago.
Sneaking to surface.
Breaking the darkness,
Suffocating.

Laying awake,
Tears streaming.
Remembering the dream,
So real.
Like it was yesterday.
