Why does it hurt to let her go
She doesn’t deserve my thoughts, she sold her soul
She wonders why I cry, all this pain still so fresh
She likes to see me shake with just a few words spoken under her breath.

Let this be a lesson to my pitiful heart.
Let this be the sign of the devil,
Let my eyes blur over and give up this passageway to happiness.

I must let her sail
Fail
Derail

The devil has a tight grip around her throat.
How does it feel to not find breath, to gasp for life
I can’t rescue you it has to many claws into your flesh.
She grins at me with her sharp teeth, black eyes, and cold heart.

I shiver

I have to turn and leave, to save me…

Goodbye Jodi
