The sun that once shown
Has been clouded
Over the years.
It's true
My heart has been cold.
The ice was melted once,
By one so true.
Then frozen over
Through and through.
Though I maybe young
Coldness is no stranger.
To this once warmed heart
And this cold nature.
The coldness is my friend
That once it was found
Loneliness was gone.
The coldness has been true.
Always been there
In the shadows of the heart.
Waiting and wanting.
To show it's face.
To win the race.
So coldness can set the pace
To cover the heart
And mind.
Your soul left back in time.
Slowly fading
Hoping and waiting.
For the sun to shine through.
Melting the ice away.
Through and through.
Until that time has come
My heart has been true
To this coldness
Set through and through.

Coldness.

Loveless for years after having been soften by a special Someone. Coldness a constant companion. Sad and foreboding shadows.

~~

Staying true the heart stays cold

Commemorating and lifting on high

The bringer of that pain.

Another very nice one!

An another nitpick...the line "Though I maybe young". It should be "Though I may be young". Forgive me, I used to teach high school English.
