She is to blame, a small voice cries
She never does what’s right
She needs to face her punishment
A punch, a cut, a bite

It matters not what happened
It always was her fault
She didn’t do the best she could
As a child or adult

She’s ugly and she’s stupid
Says the voice without a name
I like it when she’s punished
It’s just my kind of game

Where was she when I cried in pain?
She didn’t give one care
Where was she when I needed help
When my soul was ripped and bare?

She knows the truth, the pain she’s caused
How could she not have known?
If she only tried a little more
I’d not be so alone

So go ahead and let her ache
Let her know the pain I feel
Harm her, maim her, watch her bleed
This is not a game, it’s real

I’m tired and I’m frightened
I just want a place to rest
I’m only just a little bird
A bird without a nest
