A Cherokee Rose~
'Navajo Rug'

The sun would rise high on her first of new days
as T-pee smoke rose in a heavy gray haze
The brave lay there grabbing for morning’s brief thrills
as Little Deer endured his so selfish lust spills

A handful of mane in the brave’s strong tightest grip;
through her soul with each thrust he would feverishly rip
In as fast as one cooks up some scrambled eggs,
he was in and then out from between her red legs

Little Deer looked forward to this day’s noon sun,
when she took off to the river in a Cherokee run
At the pool’s edge lay a cowboy in his patient wait
as she arrived there breathless; uncertain of her fate

"What is that?" the cowboy asked, noticing her arm
Draped over it, close to her heart, was a special lucky charm
"Navajo rug," she softly said; as she held it up to show
"Wherever I go to make my home, it will also go."

It took the time of an arrow shot for Little Deer to decide
to hit the trail and make a life as a cowboy’s Texas bride
With the Navajo rug, her cowboy and their love that grows and grows,
they headed off to Texas~ this cowboy and Cherokee Rose

The night burned with their fire, and fate’s promised love so new
and as desires and passions flamed; they knew it to be true
Giggling under stars so bright and under a Navajo rug;
Little Deer and her cowboy kissed; and embraced in a bear like hug

Loving kisses given; sweet as a honeysuckle vine
as toes tickled toes in laughter, all in cricket chirp time
Tumbleweed rolled playfulness; all with his feather light touch
She knew by just his tenderness, they would please each other much

Looking at the stars that night ‘neath an Indian full moon
The two of them lay naked, listening to the desert loon
and fell asleep while watching, those summer night sky shows;
in the arms of her Texas cowboy~ a content now Cherokee Rose

I wish I craped that well when I was in grade school.

Continue the telling of this epic tale;

consistently engrossing, the adventures

of your Cherokee Rose;

and as for the babblings of the cookie-cutter bio troll ~

she can be safely ignored.

~~~
Carry on.....
Overwrought purple prose
While you have a certain flair for interesting turns of phrases throughout these connected poem, I think the rhyming is childish and overdone. This would be a much more powerful piece if you cut the gradeschool crap and remembered that "less is more." Especially in poetry. There are several places that I would take a red pen and strike it through because you've effectively ruined a powerful thought or emotion. Also, I think it was mentioned before that Native American tribes traded, but it stretches the imagination that a southwestern tribe would come into contact with a midwest/eastern tribe. I am not as informed on tribal customs as perhaps you are, but that argument doesn't seem to ring true to me.
it's starting to....
peak.......i can feel it coming on. something intense is about to happen. since i've read the comments here and such, i am 1/8 warrior, so it's great to see the american native come to life in this piece. i will say though, i really dig the navaho rug lucky charm. but i'm wondering if it is a closely cropped rug or is it shag....*LOL*...keep it up...nice work again...!!!.......don
