Everyone walks that fine line...
at one time or another in their life.
We've all 'stood on the edge,'
pushed ourselves to the limit,
gone beyond all expectations,
at some time.
You and I have 'been there, done that.'
Paid the piper,
called the shots,
and been in hot water...
I've been 'put on the spot'
played for a fool,
looked like one too.
Acted like an idiot,
stood my ground
and been around...
I've also done plenty to myself.
I've slapped myself silly,
kicked myself in the ass,
and a few times
lied myself blue in the face,
and talked myself out of it.
I've faced the music,
accepted my fate,
paid my dues
and sung the blues...
Finally,
I've faced reality,
and I still find it to be,
a fine line to be walked.

Here you have it

About the most cliché-laden piece I've seen recently.
