A FLASH OF LIGHT

A flash of light
A drop of water lands on my head
Sky is darkness engulfing all underneath
The sound of rolling thunder comes booming
Drops of water appear like stains

A flash of light
Rain is born as the wind blows
Then I see her wet red hair
Her beauty is so lovely in the tempest
I wish to say hello, to ask her sweet name
She hurries by
The rain still falls as hope vanishes

A flash of light
Lightening strikes someplace out there
It gives me courage, strength, and hope
Time stands still as the rain falls down
I walk along happy for the rain
A tap on my shoulder from behind
I find red hair to my surprise
“What time is it?”
Her sweet voice chimes

A flash of light
I do not know the time
No watch upon my trembling wrist
Just words to win your grace
