A Mirror's Eyes

I looked in the mirror today
And what did I see?
A saw a girl whose brokenness
Still astonishes me

I see loneliness
That fills her deep inside
But somehow behind it
She continues to hide

Each and every day
She faces the mirror of her eyes
She sees herself in a new light
Not masked behind the lies

When she looks in the glass
When she sees her eyes
She finds she cannot dream up a reality
No matter how hard she tries

And she tries with all her might
To face her every fear
So that she will not break down
Every time she looks in the mirror
