A New Season

The sun shines brightly over the cold ice
The snow is so white it is blinding
It is deserted, empty, and alone.

The lake remembers the summer.
It remembers the boats riding along it,
The laughter of the children echoing off the surface.

As the sun shines brighter the ice will melt
The brightness of the sun will reflect off the water
Revealing a new day, a new season.
