You can use numbers to play a game,
Cause "General Math, can be fun!
You just write 2 with a Big "X" sign,
And a 3 and an equal's good.
Then you'll have a "BIG" old 9,
And Buddy, that'll look REAL fine!
Now you write 9 with a minus mark,
A 7 and an equal sign.
Now you're right back at your number 2,
And you've covered a number line!
2 plus 2 plus 5 with an equal,
You're right back there with number 9.
Now you add a division sign,
With a 2, but the results won't do!
You'll have a 4.5 fraction,
And you're "whole" number just won't be true!
So write down 9 with a minus 1,
And "division" sign, plus a 4.
NOW with an "equal," you're BACK to 2
And THAT'S where you were at before!
Now I JUST PROVED that NUMBERS ARE fun,
No matter WHAT NUMBERS you choose.
You can play around with ALL FOUR signs,
And PLAY a GAME you'll NEVER lose!!
