Echoed noises;
Distant voices
chattering, ringing in my ear.
My arms, crossed
A rush of fear.
Alone, once again.
without my best friend.
Another lonely day
nighttime on its way.

Shadows dance
On the ground.
The sun departs, no longer found.
Silence. I sit alone
Waiting by the phone.
Filled with hope
Trying to cope.

Another day arrives;
darkness subsides.
Days fly,
months go by.
Occasionally a face shines
in a crowd or a long line.
An Image of you
a dream, so true.
Vanishes, reminding me
you are a memory.

Yesterday...

A love unforgettable through time ~ occasional reminders ~ you're only a memory.

~~

What once was

Slowly recedes into yesteryear.
