x i extended my arms to the sky
like blades of grass
and screamed my wishes to the stars
i asked them for an example of god's love

something to prove he's there
something to show he cares

i wished for more than just gold and treasures to no avail
i wanted beauty that would make me straight 'noah' a boat and set sail

give me brilliance in a smile
i want to fill my lungs with that which makes the birds sing
show me something that can make me fly without having to leave the ground
give me strength and beauty

and from the heaven's a voice said,
"and what would you do if i did?"

i knew that this was my little ace in the hole
i can tell greatness, and if it's real i'll gladly dedicate my soul

i would part the stars and planets to bring new galaxys to it
make trees stand straighter in its presence
paint a cathedral worth of art
i will learn how to communicate my adoration in every language so that my love is clear.

bring me something that sets my soul on fire like the forrests in alberta
bring me a sight that makes my heart beat a rhythm no ones heard'a (pffft, chuckle)

so i asked the stars to bring me a vision of pure beauty
so they agreed and then showed you to me.
