I ask not for splendour,
no fifteen minute fawning
in limelight of ongoing
notoriety orgasms,
no wave of that high.

I demand no expenses,
no luxury lamentations,
superfluous sacrifices
for my comfort alone.

Don't shower me in
silver stains of stars
and golden promises

when all I want is
clean sheets,
time to heal,
a room with a view,
a hand in mine,

no more.

want

Is this another version of "Give me the simple life?" If so ~ not a bad request.

~~

There's nothing like life's simple pleasures.
