I recoiled in fear,
When I first noticed it
I remember
I was lying next to her
About 4 am
Maybe later
Couldn't sleep
Listening to her
Breath, dream
And I began to think of her
Soul,
It is like a thousand butterflies struck by
Lightning
I thought
Or like the flowers at a funeral
Red roses, carnations, pain
And it hit me
A soul like that
could be far to much
for all of us…
