A Story's Told

bytheognis©

How cold the heart, how poor the soul
That tempts a man, but plays a role
How sad the man, how much the fool
A lesson taught, as if in school

Yet once again, love's labors lost
The heart beats on, despite the cost
How long the day, how dark the night
A story's told, just not told right
