Addicted,

Left alone,

In the rip tide.

Always wanting,

Always needing.

More then what,

One can handle.

Addicted to alcohol,

Goes down so smooth.

Night after night.

One after another,

Without a care.

No one to notice,

Or give a damn about.

Addicted to pills,

Drowning out the pain.

Slipping down the throat,

Even when others can be watching.

The pills so little,

None would see.

The addiction.

The blur of version,

No knowing where you be.

Everything just,

Seems to go away.

In the addiction,

Nothing matters.

All is right as rain.

Forget the pain,

Forget the past.

No more matters.

With another pill,

Or another drink.

Nothing matters,

To the addiction.

You're right...

Nothing matters to the addict, other than his fix. It's a vicious circle of events...nicely done.

The addiction loves you,

Just keep it fed.

vice

a crutch that is used way to long. a tough topic, so many monkeys to play with. (~_~) to use or abuse may be a charactor trait.

you treat "addiction" like it is a living entity, and I agree, I never thought of it that way... it makes so much sense!
