Adherence

I keep thinking there's a reason for all this,
That beneath the overcoming madness
Lays the sliver of reality that is mine
And that I have no choice
But to keep this pursuit
Until at last I am out of this void.
Everything, though,
Seems so ready to contradict this hope,
To reveal this everyday lunacy to be the norm
And I find it almost impossible
To believe in the hope
That through struggle and survival,
Dreams can come true.
