I am fish-scaling
Casting nets with legs
Laced up like a mermaid
Caught unaware
In low tide.
You reel me in
A harsh, slicker
Wet measured against
my moistness.
Trapped and wrapped
I am filleted
by your steely blade.
Slit me open expertly--
a miracle
parting of the sea
Fisher king,
eat your fill of me--
I am bountiful.
Leaving you gasping
for air,
I lick the sweet salty brine
from your spearhead
and slip from your grasp.
Returning to the cacophony
Ocean of cocktails.
