"Did I hurt you?"
i hate You,
hate You looking at me
with those searing eyes
burning
scorching
my breasts
like a brand.
i turn away but
i feel Your eyelashes
like tiny
spider legs
creeping over my
shoulder to
my neck.
i choke
because it's tight
so tight
lumped
inside
like an ache,
thick and gray
and congested in me.
How congealed
love is inside my head
and how
     slow
          it is
               to
                    seep
                         out.
Your breath is hot
and foreign on my skin
and i hate
You
Working,
Operating
on me.
Again.
"Did I hurt you?"
"No," i reply.

surgery

That forever useless question ~ did I hurt you. A line used by every medical person who does anything evasive to people.

Can't shake the image of you sitting in a plastic surgeon's office for a 'minor' procedure.
