Aiming Point
I measure walls
with purple plumb line
snaps on conceding plaster.
Distant urban murmur
and dusted fingers, the only signs
of hours laid like bricks.
Hostess to inertia,
you too would measure dimension
and slide perception on an axis,
plot and coordinate every possible move.
Without a script or whispered prompts
you too would stare for hours,
measuring time by shadows on the wall
and drill make believe window scenes
to witness world, a void
of plumb line snaps away.

Written for the Grab A Partner challenge
This poem was mentioned in the Archival Review thread, in a picking through Lit's archive of over 36,000 poems.
----------
An excellent cooperative effort, well integrated;
Usually two writers' words would be in conflict, but not here;
especially like saying aloud that phrase, "plumb line
snaps."
which two poets were working together on this poem, I knew I was in for something good. I can't think of a better poetic match than you two. :)
I love the builder's theme; a wonderful image for this challenge!
