i know that i can never know
but the silent tales of this vessel quench
not ignite to flame
the burning longings of a lonely
tortured mind
a wounded beating heart

its wonder and mystery etch promise

of something shared a joy so fragile
through could never die
born anew, phoenix from the ashes
each day each others heart
each others mind
each others eye

alone all ways and yet together

let us take this vessel in our hands
in our arms this cup that holdeth
such a wounded spring of beauty unknown
magic that has filled but not
just once to touch
and know that it is real

the thought of you that hidden treasure

in my heart
pulses firefly light to guide
and dash my body mind
with soul upon the rocks set free
true spirit longs in passion
roams in nether search of wanton

dance self import handless drives far yon all reason

ship set free upon the surface violent
rolling waves be neath cool stillness
taste of copper fills my mouth
the stabbing in my chest storm weathered
with too little sleep or food for weeks
a transformation under gone

in empty solitude in search of endless solace

levels of the deep reveal more than
is hidden wane lights slender moon
to chase the darkness
from my brow and lifts her singing laughter
tells no thing is known
or written traces in the sand

of worth my trust in worth of you to reach

this foreign shore cast away beyond all chance
and doubt to lie surrendered tired and broken emptied of
all hope and fear for things to come lies tattered shredded
sail once bore yet holds within a promise filling form
direction gathers grasp sweet gentle wind of dreams
to sail unto new shores forgotten

always alone and yet

together
