God, when I loved you
I dreamed of licking your cunt
I dreamed my tongue was a soldier
who hit the beach and crawled
and got a hardon as he snuck by
with his dick dragging in the sand
Never noticing that all around the enemy
had their rifles
aimed at his head

Funny?

The thing I love about your poetry is.....I have to think about it....and often have to read the lines again and again. I think AMBUSH means you didn't know you were in a dangerous (toxic) love affair and you got screwed (not in the hot fun way) by someone. Not only that but after you gave and gave you were left frustrated and wanting. BTW, The name of the poem is a great play on words. My take on this work is probably way off, but I find it fun to speculate. Leighlilly

These four words

The saddest words anyone can say, and the most devastating to hear: "WHEN I LOVED YOU."

Never had this sort of problem with my favortie munchy, but then your words done so well are open to imaginative interpretation.

great!

there is a depth of sadness in here that isn't foremost (judging by other's comments) but i felt it in the first word. the title really works well. excellent imagery. keep sharing your poetry, i'm enjoying reading it and learning.
