like scribbled nothings on a tear stained notepad
leaving behind
puddles of diffused blotches
that formerly bore semblance
to a once happy heart.
Memories deceive,
leaving delusional epitomes
false senses of insecure happiness
neglecting to remind of woeful bygones.
Memories incapacitate
self healing
leaving a heart wrenching,
crying
longing for just one more embrace.
Yet, memories are all that remain.
Memories treasured
of what were and always will be,
the best days of my life.
Thank you for the memories.

A HUGE fucking THANK YOU to Matriarch for her help editing this piece. It means a lot to me, and she made my writing speak louder than words were ever possible.
Thank you gorgeous xoxoxoxox
I'm sure we can all speak about that subject on some level or other. Some memories we have instant recall and others we push into a deep dark corner of the mind. Nice poem, thanks.
Amazing how strong certain memories can be ~ when they involve someone you care about.
Memories are fitted with selective filters,
It's how they were designed over time;
Pain is suffused, diffused and remains out of focus
While the pleasurable times remain greatly glowing.
Good sense of time and reflection. Almost over sentimental, but it works in the context of the theme. Nice work!
