You reside in a world
Of dark humor
self deprecating
You question the reason
For your morality
Your rose colored glasses
Long removed by those you love
Those who profess to love you

They erode your soul
Saying aloud that which you've
Never even dared to dream
Doing openly, defiling
That which you believe

Taught at an early age
To beware of abandonment
You glide along
Closing your eyes
Motionless, shrouded
Engulfed in a rage
Of blind distaste

And yet, you stay
Encasing your heart
A shell for protection
So outwardly blasé
Worldly
You hide inside
Let your life be
Written, over ridden
By complete strangers
Who profess to love you

~~

A powerful message you have here; it seems to decry one's self-abasement in an effort to appease and not upset all those others.
