Apathy

When did it change?
When did you stop feeling,
All those things you were to me?
Why did your voice turn so cold,
And why did you talk to me so falsely?

It pierced me,
As out of a foggy slumber,
All the pain you inflicted,
With your smile.
Translucent nights,
Stealing what’s left of me,
Leaving a halo of sores.

Spreading yourself so thin,
Spreading yourself to invite me in,
Sweeping away the hate,
In your passion’s act.
Sweeping away any feelings,
All to confuse our being.

Your eyes drip with sad life,
Hardly warming a heart,
And your mouth,
Pours like warm rain,
Unto my lips.

Using is your life,
Survival of kindred nothingness,
Soft exploits of screaming needs,
Escape into the dark.

Basics satisfied, yet never surpassed.
And us… Left just barely covered,
Laying and staring straight,
As dead as the love we never,
Share.

Nice Read!

You did a great job of expressing the characteristics of the woman, but was perhaps a little lacking in describing the man's actions or personality. Good poem, though.
