In the stillness of predawn
I wake spoon-like to her side
her hair a scent of hyacinth
her skin flawlessly soft against mine
smiling, I slip back to sleep

sun rises spreading its greeting thru the pine
her hand lies warm against my chest
I watch the rise and fall of sleeping breath
my angelic lady lost in her dreams
while I, once again, am lost in her beauty
