arrested from another restless sleep
he rises before he realizes
that he is in an anxious rage

he is shaken to his feet
and stumbles down the stairs
to race the dreaded dawn of day

but he arrives too late
its already 6:08...

with panic in the air
he raises the blind to find
the sun has breached the eastern shore

and the shadows have left your eyes
only the reflection is left
of a light that shines no more

he cries and he cries
as he says his goodbyes.
