Even though you're asleep
I have to tell you something,
for I love you.
But you know I do,
and yet you don't want to hear it.

And so love,
while you talk in your sleep,
so do I.
To tell you all the things I'm feeling
that you're afraid to hear.
But whatever you want,
you know you'll have it from me
if I can give it.

So sleep now,
finally free of those fears which tomorrow might bring;
for in the morning, I know they'll return
and there's nothing I can do.

So rest now,
and I'll watch you while I can,
and love you while I'm here.

My love.

Lovely

Giving when another is resistant to receiving -- and reconciling that within ourselves -- is the toughest task we can face. ~Imp
