My mind is filled with fantasy
swirling through my brain
like the clouds of autumn
just before the rain,
Some September meadow
summer past its prime
you and I together
with lots and lots of time,

Loaf of fresh French bread
some cheese, Camembert
wine, nothing special
a ribbon in your hair,
Which I untie, slowing
as a drop hits your nose
the rain becomes steady
and we take off our clothes,

Dance through the meadow
Drink rain-diluted wine
with soggy French bread
and lots and lots of time,
Duck into the shelter
your back against my chest
my arms wrapped around you
sun setting in the west,

In the stove we start a fire
from kindling left by others
perhaps summer hikers
perhaps autumn lovers,
Consume our Camembert dinner
finish off the wine
beside the tiny fire
make love, slow, and fine ..
