Autumn is icumen in,
Lhude sing Thank God.
Cooleth days and reddeth grasses,
Bringeth goldenrod
 --Sing Thank God!
Bestoweth aster, morning frost,
And how the sumac glows!
--So welcome now the balm of autumn,
Sing Thank God, Thank God, Thank God!

* Thoughts at the end of an Oklahoma summer, with apologies to Ezra Pound and an unknown 13th century composer
