Awakening

I feel as if I have awakened from a deep sleep;
One that I have been experiencing all of my life.
Your touch, your lips, your words, your essence
Have made me feel renewed, invigorated, complete.

You have invaded my senses, my body and my mind
With your confidence, intensity and control.
As I think of you, the anticipation builds
Making me aware of myself as never before.

Like a butterfly, I emerge from my cocoon
Stretching, extending myself and testing my wings.
