For many years I thought I would never find love
Then I met you and my fears I rose above
When you said you'd be interested in dating
We dated a few years and then I knew
The woman I had waited all my life for was you
And you even did the asking

You asked me sweetly if I'd marry you
Just when I was thinking of asking that too
So I said "Yes, my love, let's marry"
So we got married and then a year after
You told me in flirtatious laughter
That soon my child you'd carry

Thirty more years, our only child is a man
To a woman of his own gives all the love he can
And soon we'll have a grandchild
Though we're getting old and the days are short
We haven't given up our favorite sport
We still enjoy making love and getting wild
