beginnings

our carnal natures
a mirror, echoing our amalgam
this endless circle,
an interdependence of souls

rapacious lust bakes off our flesh
seeping into the air we respire
inducing euphoria
the sweet high of opium

a thousand soft kisses
gently punctuating ethereal cruelty
and hope abides
feeding a need to claim the other as ours
