There is a commonality to all that breathe -
death.
Everyone will die -
all living things that draw breath -
that came before us -
all the Prophets, even the Son of God -
died or passed on.
Some have hope that
those embodying an inner spirit
pass on to a better place or places
of which thinking creatures dream
or at least believe exist.
So HURT me again,
make me AFRAID - again,
HATE me as you will -
I FEEL it - but
it WILL end
as all MUST end
and then where will YOU be?
Better? Better for having hurt
all the me's in the world,
for having hurt all the you's as well?
Does the hate, pain, and fear you give
bring back anyone or thing at all?
Does it bring light to the dark?
Heat when its cold?
Food for any crying child?
Medicine to relieve illness?
Faith? Hope?
If not - then why?
Why must you break me -
it doesn't repair you
ever
at all.
But then you knew that
all along -
didn't you?

Dying ~ it's what everybody does ~ just think you can at last be a part of the 'in crowd.' Now about that -- In...where

Questioning!

Appealing to reasonable logic - asking why when the inevitable is eventual death. Somber and Foreboding!

An interesting look at hates rewards

Or, more accurately, the lack thereof.

A good idea...

and a good poem, but it comes across rather holier-than-thou. A little bit more subtlety and this would be a great piece.
