With all the times you got lost in my eyes,
did you ever bother to read what was written there?
I’ve tried so hard to tell you, but the words never came.
I thought I’d let my eyes speak for me,
but you don’t seem to speak that language.

Then I thought my hands could do it,
maybe my touch was the magic I needed,
to make you really see me.
But all you felt was the pressure
of skin on skin, not the thoughts behind it.

Then I thought of that old adage,
“Actions speak louder than words”.
Maybe I could just show you,
with loving acts of kindness.
But my actions kept their silence.

You still don’t see me there do you?
Here I am right in front of you,
everything you’ve said you wanted.
Wrapped up in a neat little package,
and labeled best friend.
