there is a moment between heartbeats,
a pause between breaths,
when I can think of you.
there is a silence after the thunder,
a brief respite before the lightning...
and I remember you.
your face fills the space between drops of rain
and your image lingers...
between this breath and the next.
I hear your voice in that time,
between dreaming and waking...
the memory of you fills the room.
you will always be with me,
and in that glory between this prayer and the next,
I know that I will always be with you.
