We dance like marionettes
Our pride pulling the strings
Every step is countered
Like Ali dancing in the ring

The art of compromise
Has a one sided heart
In order to be understanding
We tear ourselves apart

Between all the right and wrong
Between all the accusations and blame
Between all the love and pain
Will we learn to love again

I stay in one place
While you stay in yours
We sit together on the edge
Wishing we could find more

In order to get back to the start
Can we let go of the past
Put aside this stupid pride
And search for a solution to last

Between all the right and wrong
Between all the accusations and blame
Between all the love and pain
Will we learn to love again
