She is black-eyed Susan,
a Wild-flower,
hearty and vibrant,
sitting proudly on her slender but bristly stalk,
thriving where nothing else can grow,
in dry, waste places,
spotted along the roadside
growing in sandy soil.
All soft golden petals
with a deep, dark center,
she can be pollinated only
by the longest-tongued insects...
the butterfly or the hummingbird.
He loves me...
He loves me not...
He loves me!

The hummingbird's an insect?

I know - picky, picky;

Nice imagery presented

Possibilities profound, even fun.
