In solitary splendor
stands the carved wood box
in which rests mementoes of happiness
shaped in silver and gold
and precious stones

Each ring sits
in morbid display
headstones of a love
that has burned out
and turned to ash

The chains
once glittery
no longer hang as a welcome yoke
around my neck
they turn green and black
and rot on their vines

Like my heart

Good image

I like the idea with the jewlery/mementos treasures representing love in relation that has passed into worthless bits of metal. I think with a little editing, you'd have a top gem poem. Thanks, good work!
