isn't it wonderful
that the starry-eyed
in creative writing
is intent on following the siren call?
the one in love
with the idea of "being" a poet.
to escape the workshirts and jeans
and hard-working values,
while wanting "the real thing."
to wonder why poets
are so apt to write about
"matters in the bedroom."
to sit down and read a review
in toronto's "the globe and mail"
about a fictional account
of campus life poets,
where poetry as high art
is intent on proving that poets are born,
not made in the classroom.
that exquisite art inciting awestruck attention
is surely an academic unmasking
waiting for the poet.
this was wonderful - amusing as well as stingingly true LOL - alas - I know my own limitations and have never ventured into the minefield of writing poetry - I'll stick to appreciating it!
Both born and bred
Are poets creative;
Painting pictures with words
Seen only in the mind
And singing melodies from words
Carrying their own sound.
Very thoughtfull and true me thinks. I have no idea
about wanna be's. I know I have to ... HAVE to write.
Good or bad, time or no time ... I must
....MUSSSTTT write.
I love the thoughts you bring to life here and
your imagery is funny. Just me, love it !!
and thought provoking...as your work usually is...and never a waste of time or space...thank you.
