~~~~
spirited mare, unbroken,
enduring seasons,
sprinting
with defilers behind, seducers
of her freedom.
sweat glistens, reflecting
resistance.
faint eyes jaded, windows
of indifference,
muscles spent,
unmoved by horizons.
knees buckle, composure
slips, bridging distance
between liberating meadows
and ravaging foe.
with pace altered,
subdued spirit
now longing for rest,
green fields forgotten.
defeat gaining,
resolve weathered,
she brakes.
lungs emptied,
numb,
pain reaching core.
surrendering will
to the whip, harness
and bit,
resigned submission,
bridled.
Well chosen words as
A spirited horse is captured
Subdued and broken and finally bridled.
Great job
I loved the strength of your phrases.
Now all I have to do is learn how too ;-)
