Shattered fingers plucking broken strings
Silent melancholy rings across the land
Who knows what this night brings
Winners, losers, in-between

Futility rears its toothless head
Defiance shrieks, long-dead deeds
Failure emerges, hope has fled
And so love meets its end

Corpses litter the broken landscape
Stinking charnel gives rise, life anew
Birth behind the crime-scene tape
Phoenix dances, death escapes
