Cherry bombed cheeked girls
giggle over THAT boy,
oh my Gawd, THAT boy!
Was it the come-hither pony tail swing,
or the watermelon lip gloss sheen-
that made him look their way,
and look again?

Poofy booty babies
toddle and touch-
everything!
Straining Velcro wrist tethers-
kid leashes, how funny is that?
Better leashed than lost though.

Frazzled-eyed moms
with too little time
and too little money-
search for gold on the clearance rack.
Come on size eight!

A widely grinning grandpa
and his gap toothed descendent,
share an ice cream.
Grandpa moves slow now-
but his smile is still quick.

A hip-fused couple
with that newlywed sizzle-
do the back pocket grope,
and the 'too much sex' shuffle.
Whole lotta fun had,
making that post honeymoon ache.

Speaking of walks-
rainbow headed hipsters (wink)
work their punk rock peacock strut.
They put a lot of care
into that Don't Care attitude.

A slick fingered lazy boy
cops a five finger discount-
but oops, is that security?
Not so slick after all.
Methinks getting a job would be easier.

The real fun is found
in the food court frenzy!
Toe tapping impatience,
and 'I'll cut you down if you cut me line'
squinty eyed stares.

Saturday at the mall-
a kaleidoscope confection for the eyes.
A wonderland of words-
begging to be born.
Could be at the park-
but bird watching? Pfffttt.
People watching is where it's at.

A fun read and vividly descriptive — for ease of people watching, the mall can't be beat.

great detail

Poems as paintings are an art form in themselves. I particularly liked the fourth and fifth stanzas - they were truly vivid and had a fine rhythm.

yummi....

Thank you for the tour...BTW, I suspect that you have visited my neighborhood mall as well...

Been there...

...and seen it just like you did, unable to put my finger on it. Like you. Luscious. Rich. Evocative. Nice.
