ocean in turmoil,
stirs up wreckage
thought lost long ago

surfacing, I see it
now for what it was,
frail and fractured

insuffiently bound
to withstand the assault
wreaked by nature upon it

I stand on shore,
you by my side
view it from a distance

weather clears
sea calms, salvage sinks
I have my salvation

An interesting metaphor with which to drive the message home, while facing life's promises together.

Salvation

Great metaphors. Buried deep. You have painted a grim picture, with hope for the future. Great poem of hope and love. Sail off into the sunset with this one.
