Non-Erotic PoetryCagedTightness surrounds my chest,
my heart rate quickens.
His yelling voice fills the room,
My nerves and stomach sicken.
He can’t help his rage,
A defect from birth.
But when his tirades start,
I want to leave this earth.
He hasn’t ever hit me,
seen temptation in his eyes.
If he ever really snaps,
I won’t have time for good byes.
For now, my love holds him in control,
barely keeps him in check.
I live in a gilded cage,
With a collar around my neck.
