The racing of my heart
As I become excited because
You’ve messaged and want to talk?
Can you see
The joy behind my greeting
As I pound the keys
To get out my, “Hey, baby*kiss*”?
Can you hear
The clicking of my keys
As I type out the words of love
That swells within my breast?
Can you taste
The sadness in my mouth
As I let you go for the night
Wishing that it wasn’t so late?
Can you sense
The intensity of my longing
As I ready myself for bed
Only wanting the morrow to arrive?
