CAPTIVE

You visit me
chained to my pillar of fear
-
your smile…the soothing water
sponged to my aching head
-
your touch…the soft relief
For the wounds upon my back
-
your kiss…the healing balm
Chases pain from my broken lips
-
your eyes…the silent prayer
Assures me that you will return
-
you move to leave…I remain,
forever to burn

-------------

I visit you
chained to your pillar of fear
-
a smile…eases the pain
from your weary mind
-
touch your skin…release the
tensions deep within
-
passionate lips…melt the
fragments of your splintered soul
-
eyes…in the depths you see
something you can hold
-
I turn to leave…but I remain,
forever to burn
