Childhood is a brightly painted rocking horse,
rocking back and forth.
Only able to travel so far before
it must return to it's place of rest.

A rocking horse is a prisoner though.
Seeing the same sites over and over.
Unable to travel unless someone
picks it up and moves it.

And then it can only go
where the carrier takes it.
A rocking horse is allowed...
no voice.

~~

The child's world ~ limited only by their imagination. And the incessant no's coming from parents.

!

Realistically captures the limitations and restrictions of a child's world.

The ellipsis drives me batty, but a very powerful ending thought. :)
