The children, hard at work at play,

quietly I can hear them say,

"I think you're tree is really pretty,"

and this is Christmas in the city.

The feelings come from deep inside

the heart, where feelings often hide,

reminding me with softened tongue,

what is was like to be so young.

With simple words great truths are told.

A beautiful poem ~ so evocative and reminiscent of the Christmas Season. Lovely nostalgic rendering.

Sweet like "these are a few of my favorite things."
