It’s Christmas Eve and all through the city,
Display windows glitter and lights are pretty.
The horse and carriages around Tavern On The Green
Are the most handsome the public has ever seen.
Their carriages like sleighs sound tinkling bells
From the Beacon to The Palm to Bloomingdale’s

These lips like my fingertips painted scarlet red
Whisper words you wish they had never said.
Yet I do say I love you, and I say it again
When snow blows, when blizzards come,in the rain –
These words will find you riding on the wind,
And one day, someday, your heart will mend.

Just as on that Christmas Eve two years ago,
I walk to that little restaurant through the snow
Where our figures danced and whispers mingled,
When our touches strayed and our bodies tingled.
Enchanted I felt when your eyes spied the sight
Of my nude body under my coat in that muted light.

That magic continued until Christmas night
When the music was soft and the snow was light.
We danced naked and slow and I watched your face
Change with the emotions my mind cannot erase.
There’s one thing that I need for you to know –
I love you, I always will, and I will never let your memory go.

I don't usually read poems but your other stuff was hot so I decided to take a look. Didn't expect something tame from you but its really kind of nice. Have you thought about writing a hot one? Hope you do.

I like this.

Beautiful imagery and kind of a lovely Christmas carol feeling. Becuase you engage with the details you avoided rancid sentimentality on what is quite a sad subject. Good for you. :) I will mention this in the poetry recommendation thread.

that's absolutely lovely

Don't tend to enjoy poetry so much, but that brought me to tears. Thank you
